While fans are happy with the returning movement mechanics in Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer beta, it seems like there’s a problem recognizing their teammates in the game. This issue has been reported by many Modern Warfare 3 beta players and Youtubers, being an annoying part of the Multiplayer where teammates shoot each other for nothing.
Players Complain That Team Markers Are Missing in MW3 Beta
Since the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there’s been lots of speculations and rumors about this game. In fact, many believe that this should have been a DLC for MW2 instead of fully premium content. This has added a sharp angle to how fans and players see the game, but the Multiplayer beta of MW3 is proving to be good. In fact, many of the famous Call of Duty players like Zlaner and Inkslasher are approving Modern Warfare 3‘s new gameplay and pace. However, there are still some issues that need fixing.
For example, recently, there have been some hackers in the game, while it’s still the PlayStation-only beta period for MW3. This means that instead of a PC, some players have been able to apply cheats to the game by consoles! Now, one more thing that definitely does annoy the Modern Warfare 3 beta players is that they can not recognize their teammates. This has happened to many players and Youtubers, and you can see an example in a video by the ModernWarzone X account below.
In the uploaded clip, we can clearly see that JGOD runs upstairs to help a friend, but he shoots him instead. No worries, there are no friendly fire modes in the beta and casual lobbies of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. However, it’s even irritating to watch that some players get easily killed while shooting teammates!
One addition that Modern Warfare 3 beta players need from the developers right now is a way to distinguish their teammates and opposing players. In Warzone and MW2, it is easily done by the names appearing above the players. The same thing is not rendered quickly in Modern Warfare 3 beta.
If you’re playing the game and having the same issue, there are two ways to avoid mistaking teammates for enemies. First, you can always spot your teammates using the tac map. They are marked there live, and if you frequently check it, you’ll receive good info like the possible position of enemy players and the route from which your teammates are attacking.

The second way for Modern Warfare 3 beta players to find out where their teammates are is by listening to their footsteps. Eventually, your teammates won’t have a high footstep sound like the enemies. This method is much harder to get used to, but it’s still good to know before opening fire on an incoming teammate.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due to launch on November 10, 2023. If you pre-order the game now, you can play the story campaign a week earlier.
