Maintain your sanity in this upcoming Horrorpunk-action RPG title from developer Still Running and independent publisher Merge Games, Morbid: The Seven Acolytes.

During the digital video game expo PAX Online 2020, the teams unveiled their project with their online booth of Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. Inspired and transcribed through the blueprints, dark lore, and gore of H.P. Lovecraft stories and David Cronenberg films, Morbid follows the path of the last surviving Striver of Dibrom. It is your sole duty to slay the deadly Seven Acolytes, cursed beings who are possessed by vicious deities known as Gahars.

Experience bloodthirsty encounters with an array of foes and boss battles as you continue to level up your character to suit your play style. Throughout open environments, you continue to unravel secrets surrounding the NPCs and yourself as you make your way to the end. You mustn’t let madness overcome the kingdom; fight till the last Acolyte has been killed.

Equip over 25 melee and ranged weapons to aid you in your adventures. Health, stamina, and sanity management is a key factor in Morbid‘s gameplay, giving the player more of an adrenaline rush when facing  a large-scale assault. Morbid also features a fully orchestrated score to accompany the action and lore.

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is now available for a limited time as a playable demo through the game’s Steam page. The game is loaded with blood and gore, as well as grotesque monsters who infest the land.

Morbid

This upcoming title takes multiple elemental cues from previous Souls-like games into its core gameplay, such as Bloodborne, the Dark Souls trilogy, Hollow Knight, and Nioh. Morbid: The Seven Acolytes will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch later this year.
