The Summer Game Fest of 2023 started with a bang, showing what many were already expecting. Mortal Kombat 1 is coming soon, and with it, many new fatalities, a “Kameo” system, and many characters we know and love from the franchise. If you were hoping for a brand-new experience in this fighting series, you’re about to get it. The gameplay showed all the new fantastic moves that some characters are bringing alongside new systems that’ll spicy fights up. Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay Reveal Shows New “Kameo” System During Summer Game Fest 2023
One of the best things about the recently premiered gameplay of Mortal Kombat 1 is the new “Kameo” system. This is something fantastic that is new to the series that’ll change things up when fighting. According to Ed Boon, who was on the stage during the show, there are many characters you can use as “Kameo” fighters and main fighters. This means you can play as Sub-Zero while having Sub-Zero as a “Kameo.” How will these things work when fighting? It remains to be seen!

If you haven’t played any games of the series, this title will be the perfect one to jump right in. This game is a reboot of the series with a new timeline where many characters have different relationships. If the Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay reveal during Summer Game Fest 2023 wasn’t enough, we also got confirmation of Jean-Claude Van Damme coming to the game. The developers are excited, and many players also look forward to it. All that remains is to wait for the game’s launch.
Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with Beta starting in August 2023 for those who pre-order the game.
