Call of Duty: MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded will start in a few days, and fans are wondering what’s new about this mid-season update. There will be some additions to the playlists, new features are coming, and most importantly, we’re going to see Ranked mode in Warzone Battle Royal after four years! Here’s everything you need to know about the release date of Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded update, all the confirmed new content, and the rumors and leaks so far. This article has been recently updated to include all the new information from Infinity Ward’s official patch notes. Let’s dive in!
What’s New in MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded Update?
Back when MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 were launched in April, the roadmap for the whole Season was announced. Some of the changes were marked as immediate features coming to Season 3 at launch, while others had an “In-Season” label on them, including the Plunder mode. These changes include Warzone 2 Ranked mode, New Pistols, and important shifts to the gameplay, like the addition of Perk Packages. This is while we’re going to see the playlist updates and the new Raid Episode 3 to continue the MW2‘s story. Here’re the details.
Warzone 2 Ranked Matches in Season 3 Reloaded
Ranked matches are finally coming to Warzone! This is something that many players have been asking Activision and Raven Software to add to Warzone 1 for three years, and now we’re seeing it in Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded. This mode allows players to prove their skills, show their performance, and climb the ranks. The higher you get, the more professional you are!
However, a certain set of rules in this mode change the gameplay. If you have played the Multiplayer Ranked mode before, you’re probably familiar with some of them. Talking about the forbidden Perks, Attachments, and Killstreaks. There will also be rewards for players that can get to higher ranks. Here are all the Warzone 2 Ranks:
- Bronze: 0–899 SR
- Silver: 900–2,099 SR
- Gold: 2,100–3,599 SR
- Platinum: 3,600–5,399 SR
- Diamond: 5,400–7,499 SR
- Crimson: 7,500–9,999 SR
- Iridescent: 10,000 SR minimum
- Top 250: 10,000+ SR
New Automatic Pistols in MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded
We had the Cronen Squall battle rifle and the FJX Imperium sniper rifle in Warzone 2 Season 3 update. However, looks like there’s more coming.
Ftac Siege is the new automatic pistol coming with the Season 3 Reloaded update. This gun resembles the Tec-9 from the Black Ops Cold War game and is said to have a massive advantage when it comes to the fire rate. You can not dual-wield this weapon like the other pistols, but you can use the SMG attachments on this sidearm! You can unlock the Ftac Siege by killing 50 operator enemies using sidearm weapons only.
The GS Magna is the second side arm that had many rumors about it in the previous weeks. This gun is basically the Desert Eagle, but automatic! It’s like the X12 and X13 pistols, which you can find in the game, with one being semi-auto and the other mechanical. You can unlock this pistol by getting 30 headshot kills using the .50 GS pistol in MW2 Multiplayer or Warzone 2.
New Location in Al-Mazrah With Fresh DMZ Missions
Stay frosty, everyone; Al-Mazrah is about to get bigger! With the Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 3 update, there’ll be a new location that you can visit in Al-Mazrah while playing DMZ. The official info introduces this location as the “Koschei Complex.” However, there are no details on where you can locate this bunker in Al-Mazrah.
The important part about this new place is that most of the Redacted faction missions are going to link to Koschei Complex. It’s an underground base, and you need a flashlight to see what’s going on down in that location. High-level and heavily armored targets are waiting for you in this bunker, while good loot is guaranteed for anyone able to eliminate them.
Two more Tiers will be added to the Redacted faction missions by the release of Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 3 Reloaded update. Each Tier includes six side-missions and one story mission like others, but there is no info on their completion rewards as of yet.
New Operator From NBA!
Kevin Durant was rumored to be a part of the Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 3 Reloaded Update, and now it is official! The NBA star is going to be a part of the Call of Duty roaster in the new update, just like the addition of the soccer stars Messi, Pogba, and Neymar.
However, new bundles and more operator skins will come with the Season 3 Reloaded update. You can buy the Reaper, choose to look like a rat, or use the time machine to go back into the old MW2 and bring Soap back to the new era!
Changes to Warzone 2 Gameplay with Season 3 Reloaded Update
Aside from the new weapons and modes, there will also be some changes in the gameplay mechanics. These changes bring back one of the Warzone 1 features; the Deployable Buy Stations. A brand new purchasable Perk Package system will be a part of this gameplay changes as well, and we’ll dive into its details now.
Deployable Buy Stations
This addition is something we had seen in Call of Duty: Warzone 1 nearly two years ago. The Deployable Buy Station is a Field Upgrade that you can find from the ground loot, and when you pop its green smoke, a Buy Station will drop on the map wherever you want. This feature in Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded might come in handy when you want to buy your fallen teammates near the end of a match while there’re no available Buy Stations in the safe zone.
Perk Packages
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 added a new feature to the gameplay, where you could buy your Loadout weapons separately from the Buy Stations. This change became a fan-favorite feature in Warzone 2, but what about your loadout Perks?!
You’ll be able to set a Perk Package in Warzone 2 Season 3 after the Reloaded update and buy it from the Buy Stations. This can give you an edge when you don’t have the cash to buy your full Loadout and just want something quick to pick a fight.
Raid Episode 3
One of the very clever ways that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues its story is through the Atomgrad Raid Co-Op missions. Two Raid missions have been added to the MW2 so far, and the Season 3 Reloaded update will bring the 3rd episode.
In the previous Raid episodes, we saw that Alex (Echo 3-1) was still alive while on a mission to figure out what are Al-Qatala and the Russians were up to. Alex regrouped with Captain Price, Gaz, and Farah by the end of the second episode just to inform the others that Hadir was trying to start a new order. However, we didn’t see any details about how he’s planning a new war and how Price is going to stop it. MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded update will continue this narrative.
New Co-Op Mission and MW2 Maps
With the Warzone 2 and MW2 Season, 3 Update comes the new 6v6 map “Alboran Hatchery.” This map is probably going to be one of the main ones in the Season 3 playlists after the update, and you’ve probably seen it if you have played the MW2 campaign. This map is a part of the Recon By Fire mission from the story mode.
And for the fans of the Co-Op mode in CoD, there’ll be a new Defender mission coming with MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded update. The map is in the Hafid Port of Al-Mazrah, and you can play it with your friends to survive brutal waves of enemy attackers.
Ground War Infected and 3v3 Face Off
We already have the Ground War mode in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 playlist right now. However, the infected mode for Ground War will be a nice change! Ground War Infected is a Multiplayer mode that will be a part of the MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded update, but it’s not a new thing.

Modern Warfare 2 May 1st Update Patch Notes
We had the Ground War Infected back in Modern Warfare 2019, and it seems like it will be the same for MW2 in Season 3. In GW Infected, players divide into soldiers and zombies. The mission is simple, kill all the infected, or infect all humans to win the battle. This is while there’s no info on which maps GW Infected can be played on.
The Face Off is a returning mode from 2011 Modern Warfare 3. Its gameplay is all similar to what we saw from the 2v2 Gun Fight mode, but this time, it’ll be 3v3. The maps are still unknown for the Face Off, but we’ll probably see the same maps as the Gun Fight for this mode.
Trophy Hunt Camo Challenges
The Season 2 Reloaded update had challenges, and they rewarded players with a unique camo for each gun category. Now this trend is coming back with the MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded update, and you can complete the challenges below to claim camos for each weapon category.
- Assault Rifles: Get 250 Operator Kills
- Battle Rifles: Get 30 Headshot Operator Kills
