Mykelti Brown still has a relationship with her dad, and she’s concerned about what she sees going on with him and Robyn Brown. Interacting with fans on her Patreon account in a live stream Monday, Mykelti commented on the current state of affairs between her dad, Kody Brown, and his only remaining wife. While many fans have shared theories that Robyn Brown never wanted to be in a plural marriage and helped drive wedges between Kody and his now exes — her mom, Christine, Meri, and Janelle Brown — Mykelti shares another theory.
Mykelti Says That Kody and Robyn Are Struggling
Addressing a commenter who said that Robyn has seemed “very depressed” on the latest season of Sister Wives, Mykleti replied, “I thoroughly agree.”
Mykelti was joined by her husband, Tony Padron, who also shared his thoughts on the situation.
“I really think she’s struggling,” he said of Robyn” Mykelti’s husband Tony Padron chimed in. “For sure. She’s not exactly going through something easy. None of them are.”
As for Kody, Mykelti says she feels that:
“My dad has been experiencing depression since, honestly, COVID … and adding to that depression is the loss of relationships with his kids, the loss of his wives, and all of it kind of builds up and builds up and builds up.”
“And my dad, he got angry, he got self-sabotaging, and he got dark,” she acknowledged, later adding, “I think my dad losing his faith, losing his family, losing his home, losing everything he knows has added to the depression, so it’s honestly been a long time coming.”
Mykleti and Tony both agreed with a commenter who dubbed the dynamic between Kody and Robyn “toxic,” with Mykelti adding, “They both need help.”
Tony noted, “I definitely think that it’s not a good situation right now.”
Mykelti felt “it could be better.”
“It’s just sad. Robyn does look depressed. She’s looked depressed for a couple— for a while now,” she added.
Mykelti Shot Down the Notion This Was Robyn’s Plan All Along
When a commenter pointed to the popular theory that Robyn wanted to drive away the other women in the plural marriage, Mykelti refuted that idea.
“I think that if Robyn’s end goal in joining the family was to finally get Kody alone, she would look a lot happier,” she reasoned. “But based upon how depressed and sad, and she cries…this is what you see on the show, but in-person too, she’s not the happiest. Obviously, that’s not what she wanted. She’s not happy.”
“I also think that Robyn feels a lot; she has a lot of very strong emotions, and she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve and show those emotions very often,” Mykelti offered. “So I think that’s one of those things that is not necessarily all dramatic. It’s just that she doesn’t hide her emotions.”
