A new Cyberpunk 2077 mod has just come out that adds AMD’s FSR 3 frame generation to the game and it brings massive performance improvements that are a complete game-changer. And with the recent release of Phantom Liberty and Update 2.1, this is likely the best time to get into Cyberpunk 2077 if you are playing on PC or were planning to.
The developer of this mod, LukeFZ, made a similar mod for The Last of Us Part 1 and the Dead Space Remake. Since AMD has made FSR 3 completely open source, the idea was that people can access it and use it in the games of their choice by themselves instead of locking it down. That is exactly what we’re seeing here with these mods.
The best part is, that you don’t need an AMD graphics card to be able to use this mod. So even if you have an RTX card that doesn’t officially support Nvidia’s frame generation tech, you’ll get better support from AMD than from Nvidia, which is ironic.
Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Increases Performance Without Drawbacks Using FSR 3
The video below shows the type of performance gains you can expect once you apply this mod, and the changes are massive. Anyone can download this mod and apply it to their game, but the developer has put this particular mod behind a paywall. To get access, you have to be a Patreon subscriber to the developer.
But fret not, as since the tech is open source, another developer has made a similar mod that achieves similar results and is completely free. And to top it off, it is completely free and works on every PC game. As time goes on, more and more of these mods will start showing up with even more stable performance and better support.
This mod is unfortunately limited to the PC version of the game only. If you are on console, then you will not be able to make any of the aforementioned changes. Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty are available on PC, PlayStation 5, and
