PlayStation State of Play and Horizon Forbidden West Update Details
Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Guerrilla Games have released a brand new Horizon Forbidden West, announced during the June 2nd PlayStation State of Play presentation. The main features of the new Horizon Forbidden West update include “New Game+” and the “Ultra Hard” difficulty modes. The official description from the blog post reads:
“We’re so thankful for our incredibly talented community and are happy to announce that a major update will be released today. It includes the much-requested New Game+ feature and Ultra Hard mode for those who want to challenge themselves further, but also a host of quality-of-life features that we know our community would appreciate: the transmog feature allows players to easily customize the cosmetics of their equipped outfit to look like any other owned outfit, and with respec players are enabled to freely reset their skill points and redistribute them.”
Guerrilla Games shared the full list of patch notes via Reddit, including information on new weapons, new trophies, and new dyes and face paints available for Aloy. The patch also fixes several bugs in the main and side quests.
In addition to this update, an expansion of the Horizon franchise is coming in the form of Horizon: Call of the Mountain, which aims to bring a whole new perspective to this ruined world. It will feature a brand new hero and experience exclusively for the PSVR 2 headset and is set to come out sometime in 2023.
