Every now and then, a person embodies all the worst stereotypes of the place they’re from. That seems to be what happened with this poor woman from New York, who got caught having a meltdown in a bagel shop parking lot.
In the clip, the woman in question is screaming and cursing at another individual. The video starts after things have already gotten heated, so it’s unclear what the conflict is about. To be fair, we have no idea if this woman’s ire is justified or not. However, that missing information hasn’t stopped the internet from pointing out that the clip lives up to the stereotype of feisty New Yorkers.
One person speculated, “Gotta be Long Island.” Another shared, “The accent makes her delivery so much funnier.” A third person wrote, “As soon as I heard the voice AND the first sentence, I knew it was Staten Island.” Another stated simply, “America.“
For what it’s worth, the individuals who guessed Staten Island and America were correct. The OP shared that the incident took place in Staten Island, New York. Far from being dissuaded by their incorrect assessment, the person who guessed Long Island doubled down with, “Long Island, Staten Island, New Jersey… All the same thing.”
Those who weren’t focused on the woman’s geographical location found other elements of the setting amusing. Comments wondering how someone could be angry when surrounded by freshly baked bagels flooded the feed. As someone shared, “Imagine getting mad around bagels.” Others pointed out that the scene must have provided quite a show for those inside the establishment.
Others noticed the Red Bull truck parked behind the woman and joked about the brand’s catchphrase that Red Bull gives people wings, saying the drink’s presence rubbed off on the woman and is what made her so fiery. One person even speculated that the clip may be “sponsored by Red Bull.” Indeed, many people noted that they’re suddenly craving a Red Bull after watching the exchange.
The clip ends just as suddenly as it begins, with the woman – presumably satisfied with the series of insults she’s uttered – walking back to her car. We never do see the other individual or learn anything about what started the heated and expletive-filled monologue.
We may never know exactly what happened in the video, but we do know that those who can’t handle the heat should stay out of New York bagel kitchens.
