I bet that woman never expected somebody to match her energy

There are so many instances of boomers being rude to people that the internet lost count. Now, a woman in New York adds her interaction to that ever-growing list. Apparently, no matter what you do, a boomer will never be happy with you. You may even get into a situation where they take their anger out on you because that just seems to be what they do. This woman, however, wasn’t just going to stand there and take it.

Rae Dee (@raeren3617 on TikTok) posted a recent experience she had with a boomer in New York that left her displeased. She starts the video saying that she heard from somebody that boomers are the “rudest generation in public.” She goes on to say that she was at Ulta when a cashier told her she could come up to ring up her items. When she started to walk over, an older woman behind Rae hip-checked her and walked in front of her in line. Rae said, at first, she thought about saying nothing. However, she decided she was going to speak up.

Rae turned to the woman and said, “Excuse me, I’m next in line.” That’s when the boomer woman rudely stated back, “I’m in a hurry.” When the cashier spoke up and said Rae was next in line, the woman stomped away like an offended child. Rae felt shocked. She asked her audience, “Why is this generation like this?”

The situation got even worse. The woman was served by another cashier, to whom she asked, “Can’t you go faster?” Rae says this is the reason why boomers are referred to as the “me” generation. They lack courtesy and manners and don’t know how to self-reflect. She said she saw that in the interaction she had at Ulta. She also said that, if she was the cashier in that situation, she would have spoken up and told off the boomer.

According to Rae, it’s likely that this isn’t the first time the boomer woman was rude to somebody. She claims that people like this think they can get away with being entitled. This probably implies that the woman treats other people like this. Commenters agreed that they’ve had similar experiences with boomers just like her. One person said, “This is so true! I’ve been in the service industry for years and they’re the most difficult and rude.” Another person pointed out, “And when you match energy with them, they have the nerve to act insulted and call you the rude one.” If you’ve ever interacted with a boomer, you may find this to be annoyingly true.
