This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information.

The video game giant is coming out of the gate swinging at this year’s E3. With the release of the Switch, it will possibly be showing off a ton of games for the new console. Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime said E3 will be “big” for them this year.

He also said:

“E3 is always a big time for Nintendo. We look at each E3 as a unique opportunity to tell our story. And we’re gonna have a big E3 this year. We’re going to be showcasing a variety of games.” Reggie didn’t go into much detail as to what will be shown but promises Nintendo won’t come up short. In the past few years, Nintendo didn’t have an actual stage show like Sony and Microsoft did, but rather an online video they called a “direct”.

“I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch but also content coming to Nintendo 3Ds.”

“I think anyone who says they know where this industry is going is not really knowlegdable about the industry, given that at its heart, it’s all about innovation and creativity.”

Nintendo Switch

It’s also worth nothing that E3 this year is open to the public this year and the big N plans to incorporate their usual charm with something for the fans, but at this time it’s not known as to what. Also, as mentioned it’s been a few years since it actually had a stage show at an E3 since they’ve just been doing their live streams. Maybe this year will change and they will finally reveal some games people have been asking for for years, like Metroid and a traditional Star Fox game.
