A North Carolina nurse has been going through some tough times. Because of this, she wasn’t able to keep up with her daily haircare and it became severely matted. Luckily, Tone Hair Salon in Raleigh decided to make her life a little easier with a makeover that was literally life-changing.
On TikTok, user Ledafazal shared the video of the stylists at Tone Hair Salon in action. The poor nurse had been carrying a lot of pressure and stress on her shoulders and was worried she’d have to “shave her head.” She cries “tears of joy” as the women at the salon detangle her hair and get it back to its healthiest state. It’s been far too long since it looked natural!
The girls at the salon surround her and give her hugs, telling her that her story is making them cry. It’s clear this woman has been through so much and just needed a loving day to herself for self-care. She endured a lot of family trauma and, unfortunately, wasn’t able to care for her hair properly for about four months. A hair stylist tells her audience things like this can “happen quick, and I don’t think people realize that.” Not surprising as depression (and other mental issues) can make it really hard for you to care for yourself.
The woman sees her hair untangled for the first time and she bursts with tears. She tells the hair stylists, “I wanna make sure that people are kind to other people. Be kind to other people, ‘cause you don’t know what people are suffering through and dealing with. You know? People wear masks and they hide it really well.”
When this nurse sees her finished hair for the first time, blow-dried and styled, she has the most heartwarming reaction. She can’t stop telling them how “beautiful” it is and just how much she loves it. After reciprocating the feelings, the hair stylists bring the nurse’s husband in.The stylists tell her she’s beautiful. Then, they bring her husband in to see her transformation. He looks completely blown away and can’t stop feeling her new hair, with a hug to cap it off.
Nothing but love from the Internet
Given how people responded online, it would’ve melted even the most frozen of hearts. Hundreds of comments were varying expressions of love and support, as well as giving props to the hair stylists for doing an exceptional job. Not to mention how they treated her with so much respect and care.
Among the top comments touched on that moment, too. “This poor woman’s nervous system is so shot. Her rocking back and forth to self soothe 🥺 thank you for loving up on her!!!!”
Many commenters were extremely touched by their bonding. “And if I can I’ll choose girlhood in every lifetime 😭😭” one wrote, while another said, “Womanhood is so restorative ❣️💌.”
Equally touching was how the nurse’s husband reacted. “The way her husband thanks each woman in that room – he values what you did for his wife just as much as she does. she is abundantly loved!” a TikTok user wrote noticed. So, not only is she going home with fantastic hair, but a loving husband, too!
