A North Carolina fast food dispute is dividing TikTok after a customer accused a restaurant of keeping both his money and his food. The employee who posted the video later claimed that wasn’t what happened at all, leaving commenters questioning who was really in the wrong.
Posted to TikTok by @foreverbymylonely7, the video opens during a heated argument between a customer and restaurant employees. As one worker appears to be on the phone with police, another begins recording the interaction. The customer objects, saying, “Don’t take a picture of me.”
While the North Carolina worker describes the customer’s appearance to the dispatcher, the man insists he also wants police to come because they “can get me my money back.”When that goes unanswered, the customer repeatedly asks for the company’s corporate phone number, accusing the employees of refusing to cooperate.
He then begins recording the encounter himself, claiming he was the one being robbed. “They have my money and they have my food,” he says, arguing that the restaurant was calling police despite allegedly keeping both. The video ends shortly afterward as he continues filming the employees.
The creator later offered additional context in a follow-up, disputing the customer’s version of events. According to @foreverbymylonely7, the customer never completed his order, meaning he never paid for the food. The creator questioned why the restaurant would issue a refund if no payment had been made.
TikTok Wasn’t Loving It.
The comments quickly filled with fast food workers who sympathized with the employees, arguing customers often expect staff to have information they simply don’t have.
“It’s 2026 and people are still asking for corporate’s number as if you can’t Google everything you need to know about a company,” one commenter wrote.Another echoed the frustration, writing, “I hate when they ask for corporate number… we don’t keep it in our pocket.“
Others couldn’t understand how the disagreement escalated over a fast food order. “If going to McDonald’s makes you this angry… just don’t go?” one person commented. Another joked, “McDonald’s ain’t even that good to be doing all of that, I’m sorry.“
However, others felt the video lacked important context or believed the customer deserved the benefit of the doubt.
“As a fast food manager… what’s the backstory here?” one commenter asked before continuing, “I’m atm siding with the customer. Why we recording him?? Because he’s loud and mad? Did he try walking behind the counter? Did he start saying threats? Like what’s the context? What’s going on here? All I see is two employees kinda jus looking at a customer who wants the corporate number.“
Another user wrote, “Just give the man his money, they be playing too much in these fast food joints, why call the police for something so stupid.”
Ultimately, the comments showed just how divided people have become over customer service, with some seeing an unreasonable customer and others seeing another restaurant getting it wrong.
