Today, the 23rd of February 2023, Old School RuneScape is having a Forestry update, and we have the full list of changes here. The update follows a former proposal on Forestry. Based on the feedback updates, the proposal is basically about the changes made in line with players’. Moreover, special emphasis on feedback and potential release timelines is also noteworthy in this update. Additionally, the creators have emphasized the potential questions on the official Forestry Content Poll on March 1st.
It is equally important to note that some issues are subject to amendment if need be. Such issues include but are not limited to: the exact XP and GP rewards, skill intensity, and timelines. Below are the official patch notes for Old School RuneScape, an update on Forestry.

Timelines and Scale
Forestry’s release is split into phases to ensure all the features are polished, shiny, and ready for players to enjoy at launch.
Phase 1, June 2023:
- Group-Cutting and Tree Behaviour
- Leaves, Campfires, and Tea Brewing
- First Batch of Events and Rewards
Phase 2, August 2023 (TBC):
- Balancing Changes
- Second Batch of Events and Rewards
Content Placement
- Borrowing from players’ feedback, most players want Forestry to sit somewhere near Sulliuscep Mushrooms regarding XP. That’s better than AFK Redwoods, but nowhere near the heights of 1.5 or 2-tick Teak chopping.
- Forestry content will generally compete with tree-cutting, sitting somewhere between Magic and Mahogany Trees.
- The survey also indicates that in terms of intensity, players hope for something akin to Wintertodt without the forced interruptions.
Tree Cutting Behaviour and Mighty Trees
- Both free-to-play and members’ trees will work in the same way.
Forestry Kit
- Remove Forester’s Scone in the Forestry Kit.
- Include a Clothes Pouch in the Forestry Kit.
Events
- The top three events from the poll were Leprechaun, Dryad, and Rising Roots – and the unpopular ones are Pheasants, Poachers, and the Struggling Sapling.
Old School RuneScape is available on GeForce Now, Android, Microsoft Windows, iOS, and PCs. More updates on the game, including Forestry updates, are available on their official website.
