That’s a lot to just let go.

An Oregon woman shared a confrontation with two women she says damaged her car and refused to take responsibility. Although police and insurance became involved, she decided against pursuing charges. That decision puzzled some viewers, who questioned why she posted the encounter if she didn’t want to take the matter further.

These two gems damaged my car while my 10 year old and I were sitting in it, didn’t say sorry, went into the store to shop, I came in to ask them kindly for insurance information, they declined and said fuck off. State Farm determined they were at fault, big shock there. Eugene police said I can prosecute, but I’m not interested. #eugene #oregon #lanecounty #tiktokfamous #fypシ゚viral

Anna Stover, who posts on TikTok as @portlandandeugene, shared the video of her confrontation with the two women. In the caption, she says they damaged her car while she and her 10-year-old were sitting inside.

According to Stover, the pair didn’t apologize and instead headed toward the store to shop. She followed them and asked for their insurance information, but says they refused. In the video, Stover confronts one of the women on the sidewalk about the damage. “I’m not paying for your dent,” the woman responds before adding, “There’s barely anything there.”

Stover pushes back, saying the size of the dent doesn’t matter. She also tells the pair that she is recording the encounter for Eugene police. The woman’s daughter then joins the exchange, repeatedly telling Stover to “[expletive] off,” before the pair walk into the Oregon store.

The creator says State Farm later determined the pair was indeed at fault. She also says Eugene police gave her the option to prosecute, but she wasn’t interested.

The Comments Want Consequences

While Stover wasn’t interested in pressing charges. The internet was considerably more interested on her behalf. Some felt the pair’s behavior warranted consequences beyond the insurance claim.“You should really prosecute, it’s about the principal at this point. They will never learn,” one person wrote.

The women’s behavior during the confrontation only strengthened that feeling for some viewers. “With their attitudes I would be interested in pressing charges for you,” one person joked.

However, others questioned Stover’s decision, especially since they felt the pair could behave similarly toward someone else. “So all that and you aren’t going to press charges for essentially a hit and run. So now they get to be a headache for the next person because they weren’t held responsible this time to learn from it,” another commented.

For some, that raised another question: Why post the encounter at all? “If you don’t wanna prosecute why are you even posting this?” one user asked. Another shared a similar sentiment, simply writing, “Dont involve us unless you called the police.“

Still, not all the criticism stayed focused on the actual confrontation. Some viewers disparaged the women’s appearances, which didn’t sit right with one commenter. “Call out the behavior, not the person. Criticize what they did if you need to, but dragging someone’s looks into it says more about the people making the comments than the person being criticized,” they wrote.

Stover may have been ready to move on, but viewers weren’t. Some worried the pair could treat someone else similarly without consequences. Others questioned why Stover even posted the encounter while declining to prosecute.
