Earlier today, The Oscars announced the first round of stars who have been chosen to be Oscar presenters for the 2022 Academy Awards. The list, so far, of Oscar presenters consists of six major stars, including Lady Gaga, Kevin Costner, Zoë Kravitz, Youn Yuh-jung, Chris Rock, and Rosie Perez. The next round of Oscar presenters will be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the 94th annual Academy Awards.
Announcers, Kevin Costner, Lady Gaga, Youn Yuh-jung, and Rosie Perez, have all been Oscar nominees and/or winners. Kevin Costner(star of Paramount Networks ‘Yellowstone’) won Best Director for the 1991 film Dances With Wolves. That year he also won Best Picture for the film along with a nomination for Best Actor. Lady Gaga sadly didn’t get any nominations for her performance as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci opposite Adam Driver. Although she wasn’t nominated, Lady Gaga is an Oscar presenter this year and will still thankfully make an appearance at the 2022 Oscars. In her performance in Bradley Cooper’s 2018 A Star Is Born, the actress hit gold and was nominated for Best Actress and Best Original Song. Gaga went on to win Best Original Song at the Academy Awards in 2019 for the hit song from the film “Shallow.”
South Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung has also been announced as a 2022 Oscar presenter. Yuh-jung won Best Supporting Actress for the 2020 American film Minari. If you’re a fan of The Boys, you might recognize Youn Yuh-jung’s voice in prime videos’ new adult animation spin-off of The Boys called The Boys Presents: Diabolical. Lastly, Rosie Perez, who starred as Tina in the iconic Spike Lee 1989 film Do The Right Thing, is connected to the Oscars as she was a supporting actress nominee for her work in the 1993 film ‘Fearless.’
Famous comedian, Chris Rock, known for his work on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in the early nineties and countless funny films, has been confirmed to be an Oscar 2022 presenter. Lastly, a very familiar face you might be seeing a lot is Zoë Kravitz. Kravitz stars as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the highly anticipated ‘The Batman’ starring Robert Pattinson. This list of Oscar 2022 presenters so far is looking pretty good, and we look forward to who else The Oscars announces as presenters in the upcoming weeks.
Last year’s 93rd Academy Awards ceremony was hostless. Over the past few months, there have been speculations as Tom Holland being the first Oscars host since Jimmy Kimmel back in 2018. The official announcement for the trio of hosts this year was revealed on ABC’s Good Morning America on February 15th, 2022. This year’s 94th Academy Awards ceremony hosts include funny girls Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer.
The 2022 Oscars will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 27th, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Will you be tuning into the 94th Academy Awards? Let us know down in the comments below. We love to hear from you here at The Nerd Stash.
