Palia is an MMORPG where you can take on various tasks such as gardening and fishing to help you explore a new world. While the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch in the future, you can play it now on PC. Using the keyboard and mouse to play is good, but you might prefer using a controller instead. This makes some activities such as combat easier to perform. Not all PC games have support, even if they will have console versions. But if using a controller comes naturally and you want to play comfortably you will probably ask if Palia has controller support on the PC and how will you set it up.
Does Palia Have Controller Support?
Palia doesn’t have strict controller support, even though it will soon be available on the Nintendo Switch. You can plug in a controller and interact with the game, but there will be some commands that are unavailable. Interacting with the UI shouldn’t be a problem and if you are just looking for basic controls, any controller should work. It doesn’t matter if you use an Xbox, PlayStation, or another controller brand.
There isn’t any strict controller mapping even if you are playing on the Steam Deck. You can figure out the basic controls but you won’t be able to change things around like setting up custom controller mapping. You must work with what you have, though that shouldn’t impact gameplay too much. Since Palia will be compatible with a Nintendo Switch, it shouldn’t be too difficult to get used to a controller on PC.

Is Palia Available on Xbox or PlayStation? Answered
Just because there isn’t any controller support now doesn’t mean there won’t be in the future. As Palia comes out on the Switch, the PC version will have controller mapping finalized. Some players might use a Switch Pro controller on the PC, and the commands should be the same. Xbox controller schemes work on all PC games and Palia is definitely a game that suits controller gameplay.
As of the time of this writing, you won’t be able to change the current button mapping and must stick with the defaults. But as the game starts approaching its console release, you may see more support appear in the settings. You should be able to map your buttons to your liking or edit default settings. It’s not guaranteed that it will appear, but there should be some level of existing controller support that you can work with.
