Recipes for many dishes are very easy to learn in Palia, but macarons are a secret recipe. You’ll need to visit someone in the town for the recipe, but they won’t share it with everyone. Let’s explain how to get the secret macaron recipe in Palia.

Unlocking the Macaron Recipe in Palia

To get the macaron recipe, you must first collect The Great Human Bake-off quest. This quest is located in the Flooded Steps in Bahari Bay. You’ll see a shimmering spot directly opposite Tamala’s house and at the entrance of the Flooded Steps. Once you dig the dirt up, you’ll see an aged grocery list. This list will appear in your inventory, and you can read it to start The Great Human Bake-off quest in Palia.

Now that you have the recipe list, you need someone who can read and decipher it. The quest will task you to go around town and ask if anyone knows about this list. However, you don’t need to walk around because no one but Hekla can figure it out. He will tell you that this is a very old macaron recipe and a delicacy for Majiri. Luckily, the Humans has created a simpler recipe for cooking macarons, and you can make this delicious dessert with easily available ingredients in Palia.

Now that you have the macaron recipe in Palia, we can move on to how to cook them. Cooking is undoubtedly the most enjoyable part and very straightforward. Here are all the ingredients you’ll need to cook macarons in Palia:

1 Flour
1 Egg
1 Milk
1 Sweet Leaf

You can buy milk, flour, and eggs from Zeki at the General Store in Kilima. But first, check your inventory to see if you have any of them already. This is because these materials can be received as quest rewards. Since Sweet Leaf is a foragable Spice, you can find it at spawn points in Statue Garden, Thorny Thicket, the Outskirts, Proudhorn Pass, Flooded Steps, and Ancient Aqueduct.

Once you collect all the ingredients, all you need are two Mixing Stations. You can unlock the Mixing Station recipe from Reth after reaching cooking level 3. At the first station, turn Sweet Leaf into Ground Sweet Leaf, and at the second station, mix and cook all the ingredients. After a short wait, your macarons will be ready.
