A troubling scene in Pennsylvania has recently gone viral after it appears a man got a little too energetic announcing his beliefs by shouting fascist chants and salutes all over the neighborhood. And when filmed by another civilian, the alleged fascist started threatening to murder him with rocks, leading to a tense standoff.
Reddit user victornica_ posted the incident on the r/philly subreddit on May 5, and it apparently took place in Powelton in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In the video, you can see the bearded man wearing a red hoodie and some headphones, with the Reddit user asking him to repeat what he just said earlier.
The bearded man responded with “I got no social media footprint,” before proceeding to repeat what he supposedly said earlier, which is a repeated chant of “Sieg Heil!” while also performing the most notorious WW2 German salute in modern human history. After performing his chants and his salute, the man then went on to threaten and harass the Reddit user.
“Be wary of this guy I came across on Powelton who was yelling out SH and doing the salute,” the Reddit user said as a PSA, he also added that the man was dangerous since “He called me multiple slurs and threatened to kill me with a rock.” It’s not clear what happened after the camera was cut, but the bearded man allegedly hurled the threats and the slurs afterward.
People Online Mocked the Fascist
At the time of writing, it appears the police haven’t been notified of the incident, nor have authorities tracked the individual who threatened the Reddit user. Regardless, people in the comment section of the thread were quick to mock the fascist, mostly for his appearance. “Looks so ‘Master Race’ like,” according to a commenter.
Some also pointed out that holding such beliefs and even practicing them in West Philadelphia is an interesting choice since “West Philly has a smorgasbord of people from the African diaspora . This should be interesting.” Others recalled some negative experiences they had with neo-fascists living in Philadelphia, forcing them to move.
“In West Philadelphia, i was born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin out, maxin and relaxin’ all cool, and shooting some b ball outside of the school… Then a couple of nazis, who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood,” claims one commenter. In any case, many people hope that the neo-fascist in the video gets a taste of the consequences of his actions.
