Things got heated between some workers paving the streets and a woman walking her dog in her Pennsylvania neighborhood. The affluent community quickly turned into a scene of screaming, profanity, and threats of calling ICE.
The woman was already shouting when the men started filming, so it’s unclear what provoked the interaction. According to her, they “came after” the woman, although the clip never reveals what she means by that. What is clear is she was unhappy with them filming her and her property. That said, the men presumably only started filming after she started yelling at them.
While it’s possible that by “you all came after me” the woman meant they started filming and harassing her, and then she started shouting at them, that seems an unlikely order of events based on the video. From what’s shown in the clip, it appears the woman was unprovoked. That said, it’s also worth noting that clearly something happened that made her feel justified in the confrontation, although many believe whatever occurred didn’t warrant her reaction.
The original clip was posted on TikTok, and the comments section is overwhelmingly in the workers’ favor. People expressed sympathy for the person filming, with comments such as, “I am so sorry you were subjected to that,” and “Just for going to work… what a world we live in.“
Others reserved their empathy for the woman’s dog, and called to have the animal removed from her care. One person wrote, “Even the dog was embarrassed.” Another TikToker echoed, “Notice how her dog is like, ‘please just let’s go home!’ Even he is scared of her.” Some called for internet users to alert animal welfare services of the video.
A third type of comment revolved around assumptions that the woman was under some form of influence – although she is not seen consuming anything in the video itself. Sentiments such as “Drinking that early is not good,” and “Pills don’t mix with alcohol,” surround the clip.
It’s also worth pointing out that the woman’s assumption that the workers were “illegal” was seemingly unfounded. There is nothing in the video to support her claim, which was presumably made solely because of the men’s ethnicity.
While the public may never know the full details of what transpired that day, one thing is certain: That poor dog is never going to want to go for another walk again.
