Happy birthday to the Persona series. Today marks the 25th anniversary since the first Persona game graced our screen back in 1996. Atlus had previously released a website about Persona‘s 25th anniversary, alongside new merchandise to mark this fabulous achievement, and on the day itself, we got a short video, titled “Persona 25th Times” that would arrive to explain what would be coming for the Persona series in the coming months to celebrate this 25th anniversary year.
The news, presented by Morgana, the feline “mascot character” of Persona 5, follows the vein of previous games having their animal characters be recognizable by fans. Teddie in Persona 4 was perhaps the biggest trailblazer, but even Korumaru in Persona 3 was popular with the wider fanbase.
The news contained within the short video revealed details about a concert that would take place in November, that all anime adaptations of previous Persona games would be made available on Japanese streaming services, including the live stage adaptation of Persona 5. Lyn, the music artist that performed songs like “Rivers In The Desert” and “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There” (the theme song for Persona 5), would also make an appearance at the “Love Sega special Live” segment during the “Sega Atlus Channel” for Tokyo Game Show 2021. Finally, Morgana revealed that the next volume of “Persona 25th Times” will be released in December.
