As Persona 4 Revival preorders open, Atlus has unveiled the English voice cast for the remake — but not all fans are happy. The company has introduced an almost entirely new cast for half of the Midnight Channel Investigation Team. While the newcomers are no strangers to anime and games, replacing such an iconic lineup has sparked debate among followers.

Over on X, Atlus officially revealed the first batch of Persona 4 Revival‘s new English voice cast. The company has so far introduced the actors behind the Protagonist, Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, and the Golden newcomer Marie.

  • Nazeeh Tarsha as Protagonist/Yu Narukami: voice actor of Alhaitham (Genshin Impact), Gaul (Monster Hunter Stories 3), and Goo Juntae (Solo Levelling).
  • Paul Castro Jr. as Yosuke Hanamura: voice actor of Freminet (Genshin Impact), Nozomi Suemitsu (Persona 3 Reload), and Rindo Kanade (NEO: The World Ends With You).
  • Anne Yatco as Chie Satonaka: voice actor of Raiden Shogun (Genshin Impact), Kagetsu (Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar), and Nobara Kugisaki (Jujutsu Kaisen).
  • Brianna Knickerbocker as Yukiko Amagi: voice actor of Hu Tao (Genshin Impact), Mint and Sakiri (Neverness to Everness), and Rem (Re:Zero).
  • Ari Thrash as Marie: voice actor of Yao Guang (Honkai: Star Rail) and Deux Murasame (Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX).

Atlus isn’t showing all of its tarot cards just yet, however. It has yet to reveal the English voice actors for Kanji, Rise, Teddie, and Naoto. For comparison, below is the list of the original cast and the currently known replacement voices for Persona 4 Revival.

Atlus pulled off a similar full-scale recast with Persona 3 Reload, but this time, the changes are more noticeable. Because the original Persona 4 cast wasn’t just well-liked — it was also packed with some of the biggest names in the English voice acting industry.

While some fans show support, others also expressed their disappointment. Replying to the X post, @Su11ir wrote, “The voice acting was already perfect, why change it 😞.” @shinylucis added, “Would have preferred the original voice cast ngl, they were iconic.” @mousielilone is more skeptical of the choice, saying, “As much as I think those VA are talented and I like them, this was not the cast to replace.”

Especially since Atlus has also confirmed that it’s keeping the original Japanese voice cast for Persona 4 Revival. High-profile casts such as Daisuke Namikawa, Shotaro Morikubo, Yui Horie, Rie Kugimiya, and Kana Hanazawa are all returning to reprise their iconic roles.

Still, whether fans ultimately embrace the new voices remains to be seen. With the game set to launch on February 18, 2027, Atlus and the new Persona 4 Revival cast will no doubt hope to prove that Inaba is in good hands.
