When it comes to unique and fun events, Genshin Impact rarely misses. Inherently, these events shake up gameplay to an amazing degree. Whenever the repetitive grind gets to be a bit too much, you can always count on having an event to have your back. Despite this, the most recent event in Genshin Impact, Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Lab, has had some players more frustrated than anything else. Between a strange mechanic and uncontrollable RNG mechanics, this event has made a few players take to social media to voice their grievances.
Genshin Introduces An Odd System With Its New Event
In Genshin Impact’s new Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Lab event, players must find various creatures and enemies based on certain criteria. For example, a clue might be, “basically blue wild creature” meaning players should find wildlife that is mostly blue. While this sounds easy enough, it gets more complicated when dealing with the reward system. For every picture that players take, they will receive a random colored sample. When players receive one of each of the five colored samples, they can trade them in for a reward. Players can receive a maximum of 10 of these samples per day and are guaranteed to receive one of each color daily as well. Players can also trade these samples with Genshin friends to quickly complete their sets for the new event.
This Event Locks Rewards From Certain Kinds of Players
For many, they can complete this is a simple task easily in the event’s short runtime. For others, a few roadblocks have gotten in the way of quickly completing Genshin’s new Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Lab event. Firstly, missing even one day of the event can potentially lead to players being unable to fully complete it if their RNG is bad enough. While this is pretty unlikely for one or two missed days, almost every other new event in Genshin has some sort of catchup mechanic that lets players both start and finish the event whenever they choose. Players who like to wait for events to fully release before participating were in for a rude awakening when they first hopped on to play the Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Lab event.
Second, not every Genshin Impact player has friends that play the game with them or are high enough level to participate in the event. Without friends, players have no way to make up for bad RNG and missing days. Though it’s fairly easy to head to community forums and quickly meet players to trade with, not every Genshin player is willing to put themselves out there, just for a few Primogems.
While it seems like these problems only affect a very niche demographic, locking any part of the community from completing an event is enough to make the entire Genshin fan base frustrated. Though it’s good that HoYoverse is trying new things with their events, they definitely could have handled it better. Namely, if the sample limit were to add up between days, anyone should be able to completely finish everything, regardless of friends or lack of time.
