The Playstation Now October 2021 update has leaked online a few days early and will include The Last of Us 2. Playstation Now is typically updated on the first Tuesday of the month, but this month’s games have appeared online a few days early. It isn’t clear if the games will remain online before the official update but it does mean we’ve been able to have a sneak peek at the upcoming games.

The highlight of the bunch is without a doubt The Last of Us 2. The blockbuster Playstation exclusive is being added to Playstation Now just over a year after it was originally released. The Last of Us 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game, The Last of Us, from Naughty Dog. The Last of Us has become one of the most important franchises for Sony since it was first released at the tail end of the Playstation 3’s lifespan. The PS4 remaster of the original game was one of the best-selling and highest-rated games of the PS4 generation. The sequel became the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive ever when it sold four million copies during its release weekend. The Last of Us 2 then went on to become the third highest-grossing game in Playstation history. For the few people who happened to miss out on The Last of Us 2, the new addition to Playstation Now is a great time to catch up on the game.
Other additions to Playstation Now in October 2021 are Fallout 76, Desperados III, and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Fallout 76 is the other big hitter of the bunch. Despite a rocky launch back in 2018, Fallout 76 has gone on to become a much-improved game with multiple expansions and quality of life updates. Nine major updates later and Fallout 76 now has a lot to offer anyone who missed out on it before. With the addition to Playstation Now, players will be able to join Vault 76 and explore the expansive world of Appalachia.
The Playstation Now October 2021 update should be officially live by Tuesday, October 5.
