Golbat is a Poison and Flying-type Pokemon first introduced in Generation I in Pokemon Red and Blue. It is the evolved form of Zubat, with Crobat being the third and final evolution. While Zubat evolves into Golbat starting at level 22, there is no minimum level for Golbat’s evolution into Crobat. By the end of this guide, you will learn how to evolve Golbat in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How to Evolve Golbat in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
If you do not yet have Golbat, there are numerous locations you may explore. Some of the most common areas to find Golbat include Snowpoint Temple, Turnback Cave, Iron Island and Victory Road. You may also rarely encounter Golbat in the top three floors of Lost Tower, Route 227 during the night, and Mt. Coronet. If you do not wish to explore these areas, you may also evolve Zubat into Golbat. Zubat will evolve into Golbat, beginning at level 22. You do not need to wait until a particular time or have any specific items to trigger the evolution.
Once you have acquired Golbat through evolution or wild encounters, you can evolve it into Crobat. To do this, you must level up your Golbat with high friendship. Travelling and battling with your Golbat will increase your friendship over time. The friendship you gain is linked to how many steps your character takes, making this an easy but slow method of raising friendship. Additionally, you can give it a Soothe Bell. If you do not already have a Soothe Bell, you may obtain one from a maid in the Route 212 Pokemon Mansion. To check your friendship with your Golbat, you may use the Friendship Checker Poketch app, which you can obtain from Aroma Lady in the Eterna City Pokemon Center.
