Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have a Group feature that lets you and your friends synchronize certain in-game events and records, just like in the original Diamond and Pearl. Here’s a simple way to create your own and invite friends or join a group in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How to Create and Join a Group in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Talk to the green-haired NPC in front of the fountain near Jubilife TV to make a group and give it a name. Talking to the NPC again will allow you to disband the group and create a new one with a different name.
To join a group, you need to meet people in the Local Room of the Union Room first. Access the Union Room by going upstairs in any Pokemon Center and talking with the nurse in the middle. Once inside the Local Union Room, interact with other Trainers and select the Mix Records option. If they accept your invitation to Mix Records, go speak with the green-haired group NPC again. You will then be asked to join the group of players with whom you have Mixed Records. Up to 5 people can participate in Record Mixing.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: Group Function
After you become a part of a group, you can check out and compare records (such as the number of Pokemon defeated, caught, encountered while fishing, and how many Eggs you have) with other members in the Group Rankings menu on the third floor of Jubilife TV. Jubilife TV will also show pictures of up to ten of your groupmates’ Pokemon. Some in-game events will be synced between players that have Mixed Records with each other:
- Pokemon in the Great Marsh.
- Trainers in Battle Tower.
- Mass Outbreak/Swarm Pokemon.
- Feebas tiles in Mt. Coronet.
- Players appearing on the in-game TV.
