This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Once you do get your hands on a Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, that is only half the battle with the other half being the encounters you face. When you get into a Pokémon battle, it is important to know the weaknesses of your Pokémon, and one of the Pokémon players might find themselves putting Whiscash in their party. I can clear up how these stats function and perhaps give a bit of insight into how this works. This guide will break down all of Whiscash’s Weakness in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Whiscash’s Weakness in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Whiscash is a Water and Ground-type Pokémon and is weak to only a single attack type, that being Grass. While it is only weak to Grass, players that use this fish are going to need to know that these Grass moves pack a punch against Whiscash. The weakness of Grass has the ability to dish out four times the regular damage to Whiscash.

While it is good to know Whiscash’s weaknesses to ensure he avoids those situations, it is just as important to also find Whiscash’s strengths. One of those strengths is that Whiscash is immune to Electric attacks, despite being a Water-type as the fish gets the immunity from being a Ground-type. The Pokémon is also strong against Steel, Fire, Rock, and Poison types. These four types listed in that list will do half damage against Whiscash. This makes it very important that you know to use it against these types of Pokémon so that you know how to use Whiscash’s strengths and avoid his weakness in the future.

Both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
