Merit Points (abbreviated as MP) is a new secondary currency introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Like the Pokedollar, Merit Points can be used to exchange items; in this case, special items that are only sold in the Trading Post. However, getting Merit Points isn’t as easy as collecting Pokedollars. Here’s how you can get Merit Points and what items you can exchange them for in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
How to Get Merit Points in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Picking up items called Lost Satchels is the only way you can earn Merit Points. Players will drop their Satchel and lost some of its items when they faint. They (or you yourself if you fainted) can’t find their Lost Satchels on their own, so it’s up to other players to locate and bring them back to their rightful owners.
As you can expect, collecting Lost Satchels is a part of the Lost & Found online feature. With that in mind, you will need to be connected to the internet to find other players’ Lost Satchel and register yours to the server. Simply open the in-game menu and check the Communications tab > Lost & Found option to see any Lost Satchels that you can find. Thankfully, you can still find NPC-owned Lost Satchels spread throughout Hisui even if you are not connected to the internet.
Finding Lost Satchels:
- Open your map and look for any bag icons.
- Go to that location. Use the Pin function using the – button on the map menu to make tracking it easier.
- Interacting with the Lost Satchel will instantly give the Satchel and the items in it to its owner.
- You can also check a list of your own lost items under the Your Lost Satchels menu. Unfortunately, you will not be able to find them yourself and have to rely on other players.
Nevertheless, just finding them won’t give you Merit Points. Here’s how to claim Merit Points:
- After you found and picked up a Lost Satchel, open the menu with the + button, then go to the Communications tab using the ZL or ZR button, and Select Lost & Found.
- Select the Lost Satchel with a yellow exclamation mark (!) next to them. That means you have picked this one up.
- Choose Yes to receive Merit Points and “finder’s fee” bonus items.
This is the only way to get Merit Points, so always pick up any Lost Satchels you come across!
