Porsha Williams shocked the world when she announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. However, it seems like the drama may have been too much for her and led to her exit. The upcoming 14th season will be the first without her in nearly a decade. In an interview with E News, Porsha shared her thoughts on the first season without her. It sounds like Porsha Williams wants sisterhood on Real Housewives of Atlanta. She stated, “The number one thing I love about Housewives is when we are celebrating the sisterhood of it all. So I do hope that’s what they’re getting back to.”
At the end of the day, these are all strong and accomplished women, so wanting them to come together makes sense. Although if you’ve seen the Housewives and are familiar with the premise, you know that’s not at all what’s going to happen. The genre thrives on drama. It’s a proven formula for success. Porsha Williams wants sisterhood on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but it might be a pipe dream.
Porsha Williams Wants “Sisterhood” & No More Darkness
She furthered her interview by saying, “I’m not really into the dark seasons where it just gets so deep into the drama. I want to see the sisterhood.” It’s a nice sentiment for sure. It could be confusing though to viewers of her recent Real Housewives of Atlanta spin-off series Porsha’s Family Matters. Porsha was involved in a physical altercation with the father of her child on that show. Where is the lightness in that? It seems just as dark as anything viewers would see on Housewives.
Toward the end of the interview, Porsha said, “I just want to celebrate the women this season. I hope that’s what it’s about.” It would be nice to see a change in pace from all of the fighting. That’s for sure. Porsha might’ve learned from her own time on the show when she physically attacked Kenya Moore in Season 6. That moment remains one of the most shocking in reality TV history.
Porsha Williams wants sisterhood on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she won’t be around to see it happen. A new season is around the corner, with past favorite Sheree Whitfield rejoining the cast. As of press time, Bravo has not yet announced an airdate for the new season.
