Post Malone marked the holidays by giving a single mom the best Christmas gift she could ever wish for. Renee Brown, a bartender at The Railyard in Houston, recalled the heartwarming moment that changed her life. She encountered the rapper while feeling blue about her financial situation, saying:
“Going into work Christmas Eve, I was so sad I had to leave my baby girl to go to work. Oblivious that God would send me a Christmas miracle. This is hands down the most humble, personable celebrity I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.”
Brown gushed about how life-changing her meeting with Malone was, stressing that she works two jobs to stay afloat. All day, she had attempted to bring holiday cheer to customers at the bar despite her blues. However, she found a genuine reason to smile when the Sunflower singer and his friends stopped for drinks.
The rapper’s group, including A Bar Song (Tipsy) singer Shaboozey, made themselves comfortable outside on the patio. Brown noted she was unaware of their presence until a co-worker from her second job told her. Despite being a huge fan of Malone, the bartender stopped her regulars from bothering him for autographs or pictures.
Thanks to her efforts, Malone and his group enjoyed a few drinks and jammed to music on the jukebox. They partied from Christmas Eve till closing time early on Christmas morning. Brown recalled the singer approached her for his check but surprisingly did not have one. The bartender explained to Music Mayhem that the bar’s patrons and his friends had covered his drinks.
Post Malone Gifted the Single Mom a $20,000 Tip
Since other people had covered his bill, Malone implored Brown to charge him for something. He wanted to tip her for her service, but she never expected him to leave $20,000. “I immediately broke down crying. It was a very emotional night already being away from home, being swamped behind the bar,” the single mom confessed.
Brown recalled being overcome with emotions when she thanked Malone for the generous gift. She stressed that he had no idea how much the money meant to her, given her dire financial situation. She described the tip as life-changing, noting it offered her and her daughter the stability they lacked in years.
“This put me in a position to at least be able to get a way back and forth to work and pay up on rent and save a bit,” the grateful bartender said. Her miraculous encounter with Malone comes a year after he helped a Glasgow-based singer with his house deposit.
The F-1 Trillion hitmaker had been in the city performing at the Hydro for his Twelve Carat tour. Following a gig, he visited the Wunderbar in Glasgow, where singer Gregor Hunter Coleman performed regularly. He recalled someone taking him to meet Malone after his set, who praised his performance.
Coleman noted Malone invited him for a drink, but he turned the rapper down because of his financial burdens. “I was like, listen, I’m saving for a house, so I’m not drinking just now,” the singer told BBC Scotland. His words resonated with the rapper, and he offered an undisclosed sum towards the Glasgow singer’s house deposit.
