She states that “black lives and black futures are and always have been obstructed by white supremacy.” As a descendant of enslaved ancestors, she says she is “deeply humbled to be the lead sponsor of the Reparation Now resolution” and that “Black folks are owed more than thoughts or prayers or see you laters.” The video does not show what happened before or after this segment.
