An Idaho man was labeled racist after he went off at a Hispanic Lyft driver over being dropped off at the wrong location.
Online, some people alleged that the man was a MAGA supporter and claimed that he was actually the one who had entered the wrong location rather than the driver. The video began with the man giving the driver the middle finger before making a racist remark. “You are a [expletive] Mexican piece of [expletive],” he said.
The man then approached the driver and told her that she was supposed to take him to a different location. She appeared to explain that she had taken him to the destination provided to her, but he disagreed and told her that she was “[expletive] wrong.”
The man continued making racist comments toward the driver, telling her, “You are a [expletive] Hispanic piece of [expletive] like everyone of you are. You all look bad.” The video then ended, but additional allegations about the man’s behavior off camera were also shared online.
It was also claimed that the man used other racist insults while he was still inside the car. He allegedly began kicking and shoving the driver’s seat from the back, prompting her to call 911 and start recording him so she would have evidence to support a report. These allegations have not been independently verified, and it was unclear whether police became involved.
Viewers Slam Idaho Man Over Racist Comments
After hearing the Idaho man direct racist comments toward the driver, many viewers criticized his behavior. “Another entitled white person displaying ignorance,” one person wrote. Another commenter expressed anger, writing, “This piece of [expletive] needs to be identified by name, address, and employer. C’mon Idaho, let’s make this racist [expletive] famous.”
More viewers criticized the man, with some also alleging that he was a Trump supporter. One person wrote, “See what has become of this country due to the Trump administration their hatred is contagious and is spreading. This guy acted to stupid when it was his own fault. Vote out the republicans.” Another commenter said, “This is an example of Trump’s America. And, of course they will claim this is not racism.”
The incident also drew attention to the racism Hispanic people can face while simply carrying out their jobs. For many viewers, the situation highlighted the importance of holding people accountable for racist behavior and calling out discrimination when it occurs.
