Last month, Ubisoft announced Operation Steel Wave, the next big content update coming to Rainbow Six Siege. Since then, the team has been using the PTS to have players help test the changes and make sure they work great. Today, the team is proud to announce that Operation Steel Wave is now available for all players. You can jump into the action and try the new operation right now, along with doing battle on the newly reworked House. The team released a launch trailer with the update, showcasing everything you can expect.

The two operators of this Rainbow Six Siege update are named Ace and Melusi, hailing from Norway and South Africa respectively. Ace is the attacker, offering up his S.E.L.M.A. explosive device. It can stick to surfaces, blowing up three panels including reinforced walls. These can be destroyed, but if placed right they can demolish the opponent’s defenses. Melusi, on the other hand, brings a more deafening approach to the defense side of things. Armed with her Banshee gadget, she can place it anywhere and those who gain line of sight get a deafening noise. It slows them and damages their hearing, but can be destroyed. Players will have to be careful with how they use these character’s gadgets.

As mentioned though, there’s also the reworked version of House. This mansion inspired design is a direct improvement for the map, offering a lot more options for both attackers and defenders. It should retain a similar feel but belongs much more in the current age of Rainbow Six Siege. It will be exciting to see how players make use of this in the coming months. As for minor updates, there’s Unified MMR, the new Proximity Alarm gadget, buffs to Amaru, the Echo Elite set, and much more.
