After you finally find Ashley in Resident Evil 4, you will quickly be ambushed by Ganado and have to figure out how to escape the church. With Ashley coming along with you for the ride, you just became quite a bit more popular with the enemies, as they all seem to want to keep her to themselves. The only problem is you need to save her and get both of you out of there. Keep reading to learn how to escape the church with Ashley in Resident Evil 4.
How to Escape the Church in Resident Evil 4
Even though there are loads of Ganado that flood in through the Church doors in waves, you can be discreet enough to not be seen by them. The first thing you want to do is crouch down. As long as you stay crouching up on the second floor of the Church, none of the Ganado will notice you, and you should be free to escape.
However, if you are to stand up and alert the Ganado, things can go downhill very fast. They won’t be able to reach you on the second floor of the church, but once they notice you, they will run outside the Church and make your escape much more difficult.
Make your way over to the far hall, where you can find a ladder that you can’t reach by yourself. Approaching it and using the button that is prompted will allow you to hoist Ashley up so that she can send the rest of the ladder down so you can climb up with her. Keep this in mind, as this maneuver will be used in the future a few times as well.
Once you’re up in the attic, Ashley will direct you to a window. Jump out the window and wait for Ashley to jump out after you. Once you are both outside, drop down to the ground and locate the room with the typewriter where you can save your game.
Now, head outside and crouch down once again. There will be three Ganado to deal with out here. The first one will be patrolling the area while the other two will run inside the Church as long as you haven’t been spotted.
Once you’re clear of the graveyard and church, run until you reach the Merchant, who will offer you the A Savage Mutt request.
