Riot Games is notorious for putting out videos with a certain mystery surrounding them. Sometimes the videos are just snippets of information to tease fans until they give more them more information. In the most recent case of mystery, Riot has released this video.

This video could mean a few things. For instance, it could suggest that there’ll be a new Lee Sin skin coming out in the near future, which isn’t all that exciting. Skins are cool and all, but they don’t necessarily change how the game is played. Game changing updates are what people look forward to most (like the most recent Warwick re-work, and the upcoming Galio re-work). However, this video doesn’t make it easy for us to decipher exactly what kind of update is coming for Lee Sin. Or even if the update is going to be for Lee Sin at all.

A new and improved Galio

What else could be going on if not a new skin? Well, considering the ambiguity of the video, I can’t know for certain. But I can make a guess. There could a Lee Sin re-work coming. Nothing too drastic, as the champion is a favorite among players. So why would Riot change him? It’s unlikely, but also a possibility. The final avenue this video could be leading to is a whole new champion altogether. Maybe what this video was really showing us was the first look at a fellow Monk, like Lee Sin. Again, this is also unlikely. Yet, I can’t rule anything out of the realm of possibility–as the video doesn’t give me enough information to say anything for certain.

What’s more than likely is that Lee Sin will be getting a new skin. As much as I would love to see a new champion or re-work, I don’t think it’s going to happen. A re-work would suggest that the champion is not doing very well on the rift, but, in reality, he’s one of the most popular champions right now. His popularity isn’t for nothing, for he’s fun to play and can be very powerful if played correctly. As an example, check out this clip of a player using Lee Sin’s dash to tower dive and secure a kill for his teammate with his ultimate.

Who knows, though…maybe Riot is pulling a fast one on us and is planning on releasing a new Lee Sin-Esque champ (who isn’t blind). The only reason that I think this is a possibility is because Lee Sin is blind. His blindness is what makes him unique as a champion. So if Riot creates a seeing Lee Sin skin, then it’s essentially going to be changing the character in regards to the original. After all, who’s Annie without Tibbers, or Orianna without her Ball? These are pieces of the characters (like Lee Sin’s blindness) that I can’t see changing, simply because it’s what makes them, well, them.

A new skin? A re-work? Or even a new champion? Whatever the end result, I’m interested to see where this video leads. Stay posted for more news on what happens next.
