War raged across the Nexus all weekend as teams fought for glory and the chance to prove themselves in Las Vegas in the Americas Championship and ultimately on the stages of Blizzcon 2015 in Anaheim, California.

This tournament in particular was slightly different in that it took place right after a major patch. Heroes like Nazeebo and Zagara were seen in just about every composition as well as Abathur. Kael’thas which many players were afraid had been compromised by the patch was still slamming the damage charts.

Since a tiger in the Nexus never changes its stripes, Tempo Storm and Cloud9 once again clashed in finals and the grand finals of the August Open. Tempo Storm claimed victory and the very first Triple Crown in the North American Opens.

Now it has come down the last tremor before the earthquake. The Americas Championship will include five teams from the North American Open’s, which are: Tempo Storm, Cloud9, COGnitive Gaming, compLexity, and Murloc Geniuses. The remaining three qualifying positions will come from the Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Australia & New Zealand Championships.

The Americas Championship will take place September 19 – 20, 2015 at the Las Vegas Convention Center where these eight teams will give everything they have in the Nexus for their share of the $100,000 prize pool and a qualifying position for Blizzcon.

Two teams from the Americas, Europe, and China, and one from Korea, and Taiwan Championships will advance to Blizzcon and compete for ultimate glory and a $500,000 prize pool.
