Robert De Niro has never been one to mince words, especially when it comes to Donald Trump. The beloved actor recently sat down with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, where he shared more candid thoughts on the former president and current Republican candidate in the 2024 election. To say The Godfather star despises the politician seems to be an understatement.
De Niro Compares Trump To Hitler In His Capacity For ‘Evil’
During their conversation, Stephanie Ruhle noted that Robert De Niro has spoken out about Donald Trump on a number of occasions despite some similarities between the two as men living in New York. When asked how it feels to watch Trump on trial in the city, De Niro noted the significance of the case.
I think of how absurd it is, and this might be the one case that could be it for him. It’s a state case. It’s the least important in many ways — and yet it is the one that could be tried and finished by the time people can take that in.

When asked about how he feels about Trump’s many mounting legal problems, De Niro seemed to be unsurprised by this turn of events.
He’s sick, he’s really genuinely a sick person that has somehow been allowed into our system … I’m tired of calling him names. He just can’t be anywhere near the office of the presidency. We always hear about people from Eastern Europe, the Jews from other parts of Eastern Europe, from Western Europe coming over.
When I was a kid, they’d say, ‘You don’t really appreciate this country. You don’t really appreciate what we know from experience.’ … I’m just starting to see it. As a kid, I said, ah, Hitler, it’s a nightmare. That never would happen. But now I see that it’s possible.

Ruhle asked if De Niro would ever consider playing Trump in a movie if the opportunity arose. The actor was certain in his response.
There’s nothing about him — there’s not a redeeming thing in him I can see ever. It’s funny, I was just thinking that if he actually became president he could have done good things. Instead, he just … he had to do it all wrong … He’s just so narcissistic and self-centered and pure evil.

Donald Trump Has Let It Be Known He’s Not A De Niro Fan
Donald Trump isn’t one to hesitate on speaking out against his detractors. As such, he’s aware that Robert De Niro has strong feelings about him and the feeling appears to be mutual.
Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk.’ I guess he doesn’t realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!

The Actor Also Shared Some Advice For President Biden
Robert De Niro was tough on Donald Trump, but he also was sure to share support for President Biden. In this pivotal election year, he wanted to encourage people to get out there and make the best choice for our country. That said, he did seem to have some of the same hesitations many are expressing.
He’s not afraid He’s doing what he should do … We don’t have a choice, and I think he is the right guy. He’s a good guy. He’s trying to do the right thing.
We don’t have a choice, and I say that in a very positive, good way.

De Niro is hopeful that Biden will “go at him hard,” in any debates and election overall. He advised, “Go at him, because people, they take notice of that stuff.”
