Roblox Tower Defense Simulator dropped the Ace Pilot Rework update in late June 2024. As its name indicates, the developer Paradoxum Game is bringing quite significant tweaks to the unpopular Tower. However, it’s not just visual conversions, this military-themed tower defense unit also obtained powerful new features. Let’s do a quick breakdown of how many changes the Ace Pilot got and why it’s great for clearing trash mobs now.

What’s interesting in the Ace Pilot Rework, as it reaches Level 2, it doesn’t just unlock Bombs for clearing mobs. The Tower also gains the ability to change its flight path into a Figure 8 from its circling default and a counter-clockwise path. The flight pattern can be changed by clicking the Tower while pressing the F key or the icon on the left will reverse its path.
What Does the Ace Pilot Rework Means for Your Roblox Tower Defense Simulator Team?
As you can see from the table above, the Ace Pilot Rework does make the Tower a bit more expensive. From $1,150 to $3,050 at Level 2 is a pretty significant investment. However, despite some fluctuating base numbers, it comes with a huge trade-off in Damage per Second or DPS.
By Level 3, the Rework version finally shows a significant edge, dealing about 43 damage per second; 11 more than the older version! At the maximum Level 5, it completely outclassed the old The Surging Sky upgrade by 40 Damage per Second. The DPS count is calculated from the combination of the Gun and Bomb’s Fire Rate and Damage.
Of course, speaking of Ace Pilot Rework numbers alone is pretty pointless. Unlike Pursuit’s helicopter which can hover and chase a target, Ace Pilot always attacks while moving in a strafing run pattern. This makes the Tower barely able to optimize its damage potential even when put near crossroads or turns. Thankfully, the new Flight Path switch feature does mitigate that drawback by a noticeable amount.
The Figure 8 flight pattern will help the Ace Pilot to cover the same area twice. The counter-clockwise movement can be activated at will to make it turn around instantly– although there is a 0.5-second cooldown. With DJ and Ranger or Minigunner, max-leveled Ace Pilot with Figure 8 can be used to easily farm the infamous U-Turn map.
Overall, the Ace Pilot Rework for Roblox Tower Defense Simulator gives a huge buff to the Tower’s viability and overall value. Although we still don’t recommend bringing it for dealing with bosses, you can rely on air support to crush any oncoming waves. If you haven’t unlocked the unit though, we also have a Beginner’s Guide to help you progress through the game fast.
Roblox Tower Defense Simulator is available on PC, Mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox.
