After Kiyoka retrieved Miyo from her grandfather’s house and Miyo saved her beloved husband using her powers, it looked like they would have their happily ever after. However, this couple still has more marital hurdles to overcome together in Season 2 of the anime My Happy Marriage. As if dealing with the conflicts of Japan’s most important families and a war with supernatural beings wasn’t enough, there’s something worse. Now, this couple must face one of the worst nightmares of being engaged: the in-laws. I hope this couple can cope with the pressures of their loved one’s family and finally have their dream wedding.
Netflix shared a new trailer where Miyo has a premonitory dream thanks to her powers. In her vision, she sees how Kiyoka apologizes and says goodbye to her. What a remarkable coincidence, just in time before she and her fiancé receive an invitation to the Kudo family villa to get to know Kiyoka’s father and, above all, Kiyoka’s mother. As if it wasn’t enough with Miyo’s family and evil sister, now she has to deal with her mother-in-law, who also mistreats her. Even though the mother-in-law makes Miyo clean the property as if she were her employee or worse, Miyo does not lose her conviction to accompany and help her fiancé.
Not everything is about the Kudo family because Kiyoka will also meet, drum roll… Miyo’s supposedly real father. Life will throw many more obstacles for these lovers in My Happy Marriage Season 2, but at least they are together to support each other. We’ll see how much Miyo and Kiyoka learned from all their misunderstandings in the first season. Everyone knows that marriage is not easy and that many sacrifices must happen for both of them to move forward and continue. I wish them the best of luck; they will need it.
