Regarding superhero universes, whether in the comics or live-action adaptions, people always debate who is the strongest character, whether hero or villain. The finale of Secret Invasion pumped G’iah full of the powers of the Avengers and other superheroes, making her one of the most powerful characters in the MCU. Is she stronger than everyone else? We are here to look at her powers and who else is alive out there that can possibly rival her as she holds the powerset of Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy members, Ghost, Thanos, and more.
Does The Harvest Make G’iah the Most Powerful Character in the MCU?
Superhero nerds like us can debate the strongest characters all day. From what we saw in the Samuel L. Jackson-led series finale, we are not sold on this Super Skrull being stronger than every other living character. G’iah’s powers get an explosive showcase as she defeats Gravik, but that victory also shows her weakness. We have characters with nearly impenetrable skin, like Hulk, and ones with other defenses, like the defensive magic of Doctor Strange. Gravik having his stomach blown open only shows how G’iah can be taken down if hit hard enough, as he had all the same powers as she does. Her killing Gravik with Captain Marvel’s power shows Brie Larson could cut her down if required.
Being a Skrull gives G’iah the upper hand in Secret Invasion and any other project she appears in. On top of her new powers, transforming into anyone gives her a slight edge. Unless some of our more established characters develop a way to identify Skrulls, she can sneak in to kill anyone she wants. While she can blast, punch, and slice through her enemies, stealth remains a Skrull’s best asset, whether they have the abilities of the Avengers or not.
The biggest question about G’iah after seeing her buff in the Secret Invasion finale is how potent her powers are. She can blast and fly like Captain Marvel but are those attacks as strong, or her flying as fast as the source of the powers? Can she deliver a Hulk or Thanos-level punch on the same level as those characters? These are questions that remain to be answered in future MCU entries featuring G’iah.
Not every great ability is held by this Super Skrull. The Eternals’ DNA was not captured by Nick Fury or anyone he has worked with. Other DNA, like Ego’s, has not been obtained, leaving some gaps in the powers of Talos’ daughter. We have a huge universe, so villains or heroes who have not touched Earth can always come down to make a match for G’iah in combat.
Secret Invasion has established G’iah not as the most powerful character in the MCU, but she is most definitely in the upper echelon. We are impressed by her powers, but she still needs to prove herself further, as we have seen with characters like Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and others.
