A woman in New York is facing backlash after she was filmed jumping over the counter of a restaurant and allegedly stealing food. The video quickly spread online, with many viewers criticizing her actions.
The video was filmed by a customer at the restaurant, who repeatedly said, “This is crazy,” as he watched the incident unfold. In the video, the woman is seen behind the counter, standing in front of dozens of pieces of fried chicken. She then began using a pair of tongs to place several pieces of fried chicken into a bag she was holding in her other hand.
Based on the video, there did not appear to be any employees behind the counter, and no one was seen attempting to stop the woman. After taking the food she wanted, she returned to the counter and tried to jump back over it to leave. She struggled for a few seconds before eventually managing to climb over.
The customers inside the restaurant could not help but laugh at the woman’s behavior, and she appeared to be smiling as well. After climbing back over the counter, she briefly celebrated by dancing. She then placed the bag of food into a plastic container she was carrying before walking toward the exit. It is not clear from the video whether she paid for the food. However, many viewers believed she had stolen it because no employees were visible during the incident and the footage did not show any payment taking place.
Viewers Outraged After New York Woman Takes Food from Restaurant
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the New York woman for what they believed was shameless behavior. “Too old for this foolishness,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “Animals at the zoo would be embarrassed. Our society is doomed, and I bet she has kids. What a role model.”
More viewers expressed outrage, with some arguing that the woman should face legal consequences if she had in fact stolen the food. “18 to 24 months in prison. That will stop all this foolishness,” one person wrote. Another commenter focused on food safety, writing, “Throw the whole batch of chicken away, the counter, and the whole store. Shut it down and call the CDC, department of health because I see a [expletive] stain on the back of her pants. Yuck. My aunt would have pushed her back over. God bless her soul, she don’t play with jail. Going home to [expletive] some more after she eat that nasty chicken.”
The video sparked a conversation about inappropriate behavior in restaurants and whether people who engage in actions such as allegedly taking food without paying should face consequences. It also led to discussions about the challenges restaurant employees face when dealing with disruptive customers and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
