During the Freestar Collective On the Run quest, you will find yourself on the territory of one of the main organizers Marco Graziani. This bandit is making huge profits in the criminal world, and when you meet him, you will need to make an important decision. It’s a tough choice that will have consequences. Below, we’ll describe each of the possible options and give you some advice on which one to choose.
How to Deal With Marco Graziani in Starfield
You will face this choice on the planet Codos, where you will meet Marco Graziani in his Fortuna lair. When he sees you, he’ll think you’ve come to get a job and tell you that he’s always ready to hire skilled pilots and guards. You will have several options to choose from, but they all lead to only two results, namely:
- Agree to cooperate with Marco Graziani.
- Stop Marco Graziani by killing him.
Each choice will have consequences, so it is important to think carefully before making a decision. Below, we’ll explain in more detail what happens after you make each of these options.
Starfield: Agree to Cooperate With Marco Graziani
By choosing the dialogue options where you further cooperate with the bandit, you can receive 2500 Credits, as well as access to free movement in the area. This way, you allow the criminal business to flourish and support the activities of Marco Graziani.
If Sarah Morgan is on your team, she will not appreciate this decision, but you will receive an Encrypted Slate as a reward. To decrypt it, you will need to contact Alex Shadid. He is Freestar Collective’s cryptology expert and will be happy to help you with this. This solution may be good in terms of getting Encrypted Slate easily and leaving Fortuna lair without any obstacles, but in terms of morals, it is not the best choice.
Starfield: Stop Marco Graziani by Killing Him
The other and more violent choice is to kill Marco Graziani, which Sarah Morgan will approve of. Thus, without him, the criminal gang will be weakened, and business development will not be as easy. After provoking a fight, the first thing the bandit will do is call the guards, so you’ll need to kill him as soon as possible and get him involved to get the Encrypted Slate and Keycard.
Next, you’ll need to get through the guards and the turrets on the ceiling. This is quite difficult because there are numerous turrets, and they deal a huge amount of damage. On the other hand, it’s good because you can get a lot of experience after killing all the enemies. Also, don’t forget to use Marco’s Keycard, which will lead you to his office. That’s pretty good news because once you get past the guards and into his office, you’ll find an ammo box and weapon cases that contain a bunch of good stuff, here’s what we found:
- Ammo
- Beowulf Rifle
- Calibrated Deepcore Space Helmet
- Copper
- Credits
- Disassembler Shotty
- Europium
- Fragmentation Mine
- Modified Magshot Pistol
- Sealant
- Shrapnel Grenade
- Toxic Gas Mine
And that’s not all because with the Keycard, you can access not only his office but also other locations where you can find useful loot. Make sure you have enough ammo and medical kits to continue the raid, though, or just fly away when you visit his office.
Bribe or Kill – Which One is Better?
In our opinion, the best solution is to kill the bandit. This way, you are not subject to his authority, and you get the approval of your allies. By killing him, you will not only stop the criminals, but you will also be able to benefit much more from it. The 2500 credits that you could have received as a bribe is nothing compared to the money you will get after you kill him and rob the building. And you will also a bunch of useful items, not to mention the Encrypted Slate. Anyway, it’s up to you to decide what to do.
That’s everything you should know about this tough decision. Indeed, knowing all the consequences, you should be able to easily decide whether you want to accept Marco Graziani’s bribe or kill him in Starfield.
