Solo Leveling Arise is an excellent mobile and PC gacha Action RPG for fans of the hit manhwa. If you weren’t satisfied with the power fantasy getting an anime adaptation, now you can follow Sung Jinwoo and his allies into battle. However, if you’re looking to get a special edge in battle, we’ve gathered our selections of your strongest options. Below is a tier list of the best characters, as well as player and hunter weapons in Solo Leveling Arise!
Solo Leveling Arise Best Characters Tier List
While Sung Jinwoo gets a predictable edge in this, it’s fascinating how other characters fare among the best in Solo Leveling Arise. Playing and trying out these characters as the game’s gacha rewards them gives an impressive showcase of their advantages.
Tier | Solo Leveling Arise Character |
---|---|
The Monarch of Shadows | Sung Jinwoo |
S | Seo Jiwoo, Choi Jong-In, Lim Tae-Gyu, Baek Yoonho, Jo Kyuhwan |
A | Lee Bora, Hwang Dongsoo, Nam Chae-Young, Han Song-Yi |
B | Emma Laurent, Min Byung-Gu, Anna Ruiz, Park Heejin |
C | Kim Sangshik, Lee Joohee, Yoo Jinho, Kim Chul |
D | Woo Jinchul, Song Chiyul, Kang Taeshik |
E | Park Beom-Shik, Hwang Dongsuk |
In addition to elemental attacks, play styles, and how well certain characters synergize with a team are accounted for. It’s tempting to look at how they perform at max level, but consider how they are when you get them.
Certain characters got a higher placement based on their job class, with magic and ranged attackers benefiting. SSR hunters certainly have high representation at the S-tier, however, Hwang Dongsoo falls short. Ranged fighters do well on the battlefield, and in the case of Choi Jong-In’s exclusive weapon, steal everybody else’s proverbial lunch.
Water and light fare well on this tier list, along with Poison and Frozen among the best status ailments. Generally, being able to stay mobile and inflict heavy, stacking damage is crucial; Restricting enemy movement effectively dooms them, so Nam Chae-Young excels in both. It’s quite the success story for the E-Rank hunter.
Conversely, characters who benefit from higher bulk and defense buffs rank at the bottom. Characters like Hwang Dongsuk and Park Beom-Shik are slow to play and perform poorly. While it’s still fun to try them out, it’s important to consider how the game favors taking no damage.
Solo Leveling Arise Hunter Weapon Tier List
Hunters don’t have to go without weapons if you don’t pull their exclusive SSR options. Performance won’t be maxed out with these, but certain weapons generally synergize better. Additionally, when you’re playing as your team of hunters, you want better performance while using them. Here is our tier list of the best Solo Leveling Arise hunter weapons:
Tier | Solo Leveling Hunter Weapon |
---|---|
S | Steel Dagger, Steel Dagger |
A | Steel Longsword, Steel Bow |
B | Bow, Ancient Grimoire |
C | Sword, Dagger, Steel Axe |
D | Essence of Magic, Steel Shield, Steel Staff |
E | Hatchet, Shield, Staff |
Rarity for these does not leave the R-SR range, but it also doesn’t dictate overall potential. Certainly, some have more flexible purposes than others, such as the R-rarity Bow still being worthwhile. Critical hit damage and basic attacks are consistently helpful metrics, while damage from boss monsters, or power gauge charging, is situational at best. This means staves and shields sit around the bottom.
However, more common weapons are just that: more common. As you’re leveling up your gear, you’ll inevitably want to keep simpler gear around until you’ve assembled enough SR gear to supercharge your hunters. Finally, many of these will be placeholders until you get each hunter’s exclusive weapon, so keep this in mind. Exclusive weapons, therefore, are rolled into each hunter’s placement on the previous tier list instead.
Solo Leveling Arise Player Weapon Tier List
Solo Leveling Arise lets players enjoy Jinwoo’s journey from the start. This means you get to experience his Second Awakening and discover iconic weapons of his. Additionally, though, you might find overlooked weapons that are fun to use with him. Below is how well these weapons rank against each other:
Tier | Solo Leveling Player Weapon |
---|---|
S | The Huntsman, Thetis’ Grimoire, Demon King’s Longsword, Shadow Scythe |
A | Vulcan’s Rage, Demonic Plum Flower Sword, Lustrous Dragon Sword, Kasaka’s Venom Fang, Ice Elf’s Bow, Kim Sangshik’s Sword |
B | Demon Knight’s Spear, Frostbite Falchion, Radiru Family’s Longbow, Orb of Avarice, Burning Demon’s Grimoire, Arachnid’s Hand Crossbow |
C | Naga Guardian Dragon’s Trident, Orc’s Broadsword, Grave Keeper’s Scythe, Lycan Slayer, Dagger, Bow |
D | West Wind, Knight Killer, Black Hawk, Sandstorm Cube, Lizard Glaive, Dragonscale Broadsword, Essence of Magic, Sword |
E | Baruka’s Dagger, Rock Golem Hammer, Knight’s Sword, Razan’s Blade, Shield, Hatchet, Staff |
Mere damage output is a small part of the appeal of each of these weapons. With Jinwoo often being on the front, you want devastating offensive output and helpful abilities.
Freeze effects, such as those from Thetis’ Grimoire, are natural assets in this movement-heavy game. The Huntsman’s abilities include punishing enemies for getting close. Demon King’s Longsword has Stun, a natural extension of Freeze that immobilizes the target, and even Storm of White Flames, a death blossom radius that also boosts your attack.
Interrupting or stopping your enemies while crushing them and keeping a distance is crucial when going after high performance, completing secondary missions, and looking cool. However, weapons that substantially boost your crit rates are classic RPG power fantasy moves, so the Shadow Scythe has a natural home.
The bottom of this tier list includes underwhelming or defensive weapons like the Shield or Rock Golem Hammer. Generally, you want weapons that help you do the job the fastest. While keeping health high is often also a mission, it’s better to evade than defend.
What Should Players Prioritize in Their Builds?
While ranged attackers and magic users are good for hunters, Jinwoo wants to punish enemies for getting close. Hunters and the player benefit from status effects such as Freeze or Stun, preventing enemies from hurting them as much as possible. Defense penetration helps but is not always crucial. Instead, focus on raw damage output, stackable bonuses, and area of effect damage. Performance is often graded on quickly finishing a mission and avoiding damage.
But beyond these general tips, having fun with your power fantasy is important. This game will likely change over time, and power creep might set in, so it’s a good idea to try everything and see if they’re to your liking. Burning Demon’s Grimoire places reasonably high in its respective tier list but requires practice. If you feel like winning though, choosing the S-ranks from any of these tier list options will make your Solo Leveling Arise experience a cakewalk.
