Seeing the success of its games, Sony has created a studio to adapt their games to movies and TV shows. Sony is forming PlayStation Productions to adapt its PlayStation games to movies and TV shows. Sony will keep the production of its films and TV shows in-house. It will keep a watchful eye on the production of its games and movies so there isn’t any chance of creative disputes. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Shawn Layden, a studio lead, had the following to say:
“We’ve got 25 years of game development experience, and that’s created 25 years of great games, franchises, and stories. We feel that now is a good time to look at other media opportunities across streaming or film or television to give our world’s life in another spectrum.”

Sony is already in talks with producers to see about the specifics of its movies. Sony previously talked with key figures of movie producing, such as Kevin Feige about how he adapted Marvel characters from the comic books to the MCU in the movies. Sony talked with these prominent individuals to get a better understanding of how to translate their games into film.
PlayStation has over 100 different titles to work with for adaptation to the big screen in the theater or in your living room. Many fans have suggested beginning work on a live-action version of the Uncharted series, which had amazing success with the series since day one. While not distributed by PlayStation Productions itself, Sony Pictures eventually released Uncharted (2022), which starred Tom Holland from Spider-Man and Mark Wahlberg.
