If you have been wondering whether or not your beloved Spider-Man 2 is on track to hit its release date, we have some great news. Spider-Man 2 has gone gold exactly one month before its release date on October 20th. That’s 30 days for Insomniac Games to polish everything up, and we at The Nerd Stash couldn’t be more excited. This news comes straight from the Insomniac Games ‘X’ (or Twitter) account.
Spider-Man 2 Has Gone Gold Right On Schedule
For those of you unfamiliar with the term “gone gold,” rest assured knowing that it is a good thing. Spider-Man 2 going gold means that it is finalized and ready for release. Now, with all this extra time before launch, Insomniac Games can ensure that the game is the best it can possible be.
To accompany the announcement, Insomniac Games posted a video where Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Laura Baily (MaryJane Watson), and Tony Todd (Venom) share their elation at Spider-Man 2 going gold. For those of you out of the loop, those are the official voice actors for the game.
In the same video, Yuri Lowenthal shared a sentiment that I think we can all get behind. “I guess now all we have left is for you to get the game and play it.” After the hype-fueled video, Insomniac Games left a heartfelt message for their fans.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has officially GONE GOLD! We’re thrilled to share this milestone achievement with out studio and collaborators at PlayStation and Marvel Games, and with our incredible community around the world. We can’t wait for you to experience what we’ve been cooking up on October 20th!”

The now gone-gold Spider-Man 2 is the hotly anticipated sequel to its 2018 predecessor. This time around, players can swap between Miles Morales and Peter Parker, allowing more freedom than ever before. Furthermore, the map is now twice the size of the original, though the storyline is set to take roughly the same amount of time.
