Most of us know Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds from MCU’s Spider-Man movies, Peter Parker’s trustiest best friend and sidekick. However, many of Jacob Batalon’s fans have also come to know him as the “CEO of Sex”– whatever that is. Well, Jacob Batalon himself has come to terms with what he thinks of this community moniker and meme, and he has a lot of positive things to say about his being the CEO of Sex.
Jacob Batalon sat down recently in an interview with ScreenRant where he also promoted his latest movie, Novocaine. It just so happens that the interviewer was well aware of Jacob Batalon’s other title in the meme community as the CEO of Sex. When asked about what Jacob felt as the CEO of Sex, he didn’t mince words, ‘It’s an Honor‘ according to the MCU actor.
“First of all, it’s an honor. I feel like people come to me for sex advice all the time. Honestly, not sure it kind of seems like it was like an ironic thing? But also, I’m not going to turn it down. Also, my fiancée was just like very much intrigued by it,” explains Jacob Batalon.
To be clear, Jacob Batalon isn’t really the CEO of anything (not yet anyway). “CEO of Sex” is just an absurdist and random-humor meme about him, something the meme community basically created as a headcanon. Other versions of the meme allude to Jacob Batalon releasing “Sex 2” after his success as the CEO of Sex.
As for Jacob Batalon’s role in Novocaine, he’ll once again take on the role of the hero’s friend, this time as Nathan “Novocain” Caine’s gaming buddy, Roscoe Dixon. That isn’t to say Jacob has been typecast. The young actor also starred as a goofy hero in Reginald the Vampire, where he takes on the role of an overweight vampire.
Jacob Keeps Mum About Hobgoblin Role in MCU
Speaking of expanding his horizons and breaking out of his usual roles, a lot of fan speculation in the MCU points to how Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds is overdue to become the Hobgoblin, one of Spider-Man’s villains. Hobgoblin is not unlike the Green Goblin and the title was assumed by several characters in the comic books, including comic book Ned Leeds.
Jacob Batalon also had an interview with other media outlets in which he was asked about his potential Hobgoblin role now that Spider-Man has been reset in the MCU thanks to the events in No Way Home.
Right now, however, there’s no official confirmation yet, though Batalon has expressed openness to the possibility. Besides, being named Ned Leeds was already a telltale sign even before No Way Home game MCU’s Spider-Man a soft reboot.
