Just as in its predecessor, Nintendo’s latest Zelda game features all manner of different consumable items. Most of these have more than a single use case, and Splashing Fruits are no exception. Whether you’re looking to wash away sludge or you’re after a swimming speed buff, here’s how to get Splash Fruit in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

If you’re not up to speed on what Splash Fruit trees look like, they have a distinct shape to their leaves, and the yellow fruit itself is fleshy in nature. Just as with Apples and other fruit in the game, just press the “A” button on the JoyCon controller when you want to pick one up. Typically, you’ll get two or three per tree.

There are several locations around Hyrule where you can farm Splash Fruit. Our favorite is the Lanayru area, where Splash Fruit trees are in abundance. The trees grow near the water’s edge or in shallow pools. The coordinates 2857, 0582, 0379 will take you to the Tower, which is blocked by sludge. The surrounding area features many Splash Trees where you can farm the fruit.

Elsewhere, in West Necluda, Splash Fruit can be found growing in the wild; again, usually in areas with water nearby. Not only that, there’s a General Store nearby (right of the state in Zora’s Domain) where you can actually purchase them if you can’t be bothered grabbing them from the source. You can also buy these fruits at the vendor in Kakariko Village.

Washing Away Sludge & What Splash Fruits Do

If you’re looking for Splash Fruit, then chances are you’ve realized it can be used to wash away sludge. You know, the very kind that blocks the entrance to the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower! Also, the same that covers the statue in the main quest of the same name. To use it to this end, remember that you must combine it with an arrow and fire at your target.
Of course, as we’ve alluded to earlier, Splash Fruit is also handy for use in recipes if you’re wanting to increase your swim speed. It should allow you to swim faster and explore deeper underwater areas. An example of a recipe that uses Splash Fruit to this effect is to collect 5 Splash Fruit, 1 Hyrule Bass/1 Tabantha Wheat. Cooking this in a pot will boost your swim speed.
Similar to Shock Fruits, when used on their own, Splash Fruits have combat effects, too. They can be used to dowse enemies and make them more vulnerable to attack. Again, fuse it with an arrow and fire at your target to create this effect.
That does it for how to get Splash Fruits in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom so you can climb faster and further. For more useful content on the game, including Shrine walkthroughs, keep it locked to The Nerd Stash.
