The Ghostfish in Stardew Valley is a ghostly pale fish that is unlike any other. Not only does it sell ridiculously well in stores, but it also has a very high health regeneration rate for players who ingest it. The only question is: how does one get the Ghostfish? This is the guide for those looking for the answer to that very question.

How to Get the Ghostfish

Ghostfish Stardew Valley

To get a Ghostfish one must go looking in the mines rather than the ocean. More specifically, you need to find the underground lake that is located on floors 20 and 60 in the mines. It doesn’t matter what season as they are available all year round and they show up in any weather too. This is the only way to get a Ghostfish. At least, out in the wild.

If you are crafty enough, you can catch an amount of Ghostfish from the mines and then put them in your Fish Pond. The amount of fish allowed to be in the pond depends on how many quests you have done for it, but it reaches its max at ten. These fish will reproduce every two days.

Once you have procured a Ghostfish, the lowest they sell for is 45G while the highest sells for 135G. It all depends on your Fishing skill. If you put them in the pond, they will produce Roe. This is a product that can also be sold for 52G. So, the Ghostfish itself is quite profitable. Unfortunately, no one in the village especially likes it as a gift. But this fish is a gift you can give yourself. There are plenty of recipes that you can use with it that will greatly heal you and your energy.

That’s all there is to it for those looking to get a Ghostfish. Though, for those that struggle with the fishing mechanic, it might not be good news. However, if you keep at it those pesky Ghostfish will be yours. Let us know in the comments below what you like to use the Ghostfish for.
