American dancer Allison Holker sparks online criticism over her recent comments about her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss. The Dancing With The Stars alum recently shared more about her former beau’s dark past, especially his addiction struggles. He had hidden these problems from her during their marriage, but she uncovered them after his death by suicide.
Weeks after the tragic incident in December 2022, Holker discovered a “cornucopia” of drugs hidden inside Boss’ shoeboxes. She found mushrooms, pills, and other substances while cleaning out the closet and choosing an outfit for his funeral. The dancer claimed these items blindsided her as she was unaware of her late husband’s addictions, confessing:
“It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.”
Holker felt hurt by his secrets because she believed they had “very honest” communication throughout their nine-year marriage. She was aware of his marijuana use, noting Boss would sneak out to smoke and drink in their guesthouse. He did so after their kids went to bed, and she accepted these moments as his “time to recharge.”
Holker revealed more shocking secrets about her late husband, including snippets from his journals alluding to abuse. In these entries, Boss implied a male figure had sexually abused him during his childhood. His widow told PEOPLE that she hoped sharing his struggles could help someone suffering in silence.
Fans Call Out Stephen “tWwitch” Boss’ Widow for Spilling His Secrets
While Holker wished to share her late husband’s demons with the public, many disagreed with her stance on X. Some saw her revelations as a way of profiting from Boss’ struggles, especially with her new memoir This Far. “Capitalizing on his death and sharing his secrets is disturbingly disgusting,” someone claimed.
“Why the hell is she sharing this? She has children by this man, and I don’t think it’s fair for her to let out so many dark things like this about their father. It’s sad what people are willing to do for money,” another penned. A third echoed similar sentiments about the So You Think You Can Dance alum, wondering, “Why is she doing this?”
More critics slammed Holker, with a fan stressing that the public did not need to know about Boss’ past. An X user shared the same view, accusing the media personality of doing everything to sell her memoir. Someone else noted the dancer had a new man and should spare her children from unnecessary media attention.
We covered that Holker launched her relationship with Adam Edmunds on Instagram last November. She shared pictures from their time on the DWTS 500th episode event alongside a tribute to her new beau. She thanked her lover for his consistent support, adding, “I couldn’t be more happy and excited for this next chapter.”
