Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League isn’t even out yet, and the game’s servers are already having trouble supporting the lucky few who just got online. The servers, according to Rocksteady, are down for maintenance and will be back shortly. This was done because a story completion glitch was affecting players.

But how were some people playing before the game even came out? Well, if you live in New Zealand, the game is already released for you. Those who bought the Deluxe Edition of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League get to play the game 72 before everyone else. Starting Tuesday, January 30, if you have the Deluxe Edition, you can start playing before everyone else.

The glitch that resulted in the maintenance gives players a 100% story completion status before they even start the game. Rocksteady says that the problem will be solved within a few hours. The servers were originally online for only an hour or so before players got kicked out with a message saying that the servers were down for maintenance.

This is a consequence of the game’s online-only status, but Rocksteady did confirm that there is an offline mode inbound sometime after launch. This only adds to the backlash fans had about the game being a live-service title in the first place. To top it all off, Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League comes with the latest Denuvo DRM protection at launch, which can be just as problematic for legitimate buyers as it is to those who aim to pirate it.

Ever since its official reveal, Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League has been given a tough time by fans. The first few reveals got a flood of dislikes, and even after the delay from 2023 to 2024, most people still weren’t happy with the switch to a live-service model. This may have been the reason why two of the co-founders of Rocksteady have left the company and founded their own studio.
