In a Twitter post, Nintendo of America has shared that a new Super Mario Bros Wonder Direct will showcase the game. Although the Super Mario Bros Wonder release date approaches, still, little information is known about Mario’s next jump to 2D. However, this will all change come August 31st, the date of the next Nintendo Direct. Until then, players will sadly only have the original announcement trailer to base their theories on.

A New Step For 2D Mario

Super Mario Bros Wonder is the newest 2D-platformer Mario series that will follow New Super Mario Bros Unlike the previous series, this new platformer will have an updated art style and gameplay mechanics that shake up the classic Mario formula. This includes things like the Wonder Flower, which will cause bizarre things to happen, unique to each level, and a power-up that turns Mario into an elephant. Overall, Super Mario Bros Wonder‘s trailer showed off a massive change of pace for the next steps of the Mario franchise during the previous Nintendo Direct.
